Medicinal plants play an important role in the lives of rural people, particularly in remote areas of developing countries with few health facilities. It is estimated that around 70,000 species of plants ranging from lichens to towering trees have been used for medicinal purposes. The present review discusses the importance of plants with hepatoprotective activity. There are many plants with this activity and some of them are mentioned in the review. In this review article, an attempt has been made to compile the hepatoprotective plants reported from India and abroad which may be useful to health professionals, scientists and academicians working in the field of pharmacology and therapeutics for developing effective and effective solutions for the treatment of hepatoprotective diseases.an evidence-basedfor curing different types of liver diseases in humans and animals.
