In this study the investigations on the synthesis of Schiff bases derived from 3-formyl chromones and various aromatic anilines are reported. The reactions are carried out under MW (microwave) irradiation using aqueous media. This afforded the formation of product(s) in excellent yield (81.17 to 88.14 %). Further, all the synthesized compounds were screened for their in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity against various strains by using the agar diffusion method. The Schiff bases were found to exhibit good to excellent activity against bacterial as well as fungal species.
